Candee Annaud, author of Love in the Time of Corona -- Your Guide to "Safe" and Fun Fantasies provided answers to your questions... 1. How are people thinking about dating? Early on, many single people simply stopped dating. The initial Covid scare and the "self-sheltering" policies put too much caution in their hearts. It seemed easy enough, because no one expected this thing to go on for months. As things lingered, single people began feeling isolated and lonely. So, most singles I know at least dipped their toe into the singles waters again. However, it's a new world and no one leaped into meeting. I am starting a new project and doing some research. I came across this very clever social distancing technique being used by Fish Tales Bar & Grill in Maryland . Check it out -- isn't that clever? It looks like a vinyl record, too. Q : What is Love in the Time of Corona about ? A : It’s a nonfiction guide written to give singles and couples imaginative ideas about how to still enjoy romance and fantasy even while self-sheltering. As the world dramatically changed overnight, many single people and couples had their lives turned upside down. Touching and intimacy are important to building a healthy immune system yet self-sheltering rules, in some cases, prohibit it. A : Everyone has been rightfully focused on the virus itself and protecting people’s health. I anticipated that once the focus shifted toward the sociological and psychological impacts, people would seek information to help their personal lives. Additionally, human contact and touch are a part of being human. With all of the stress caused by the virus plus the lack of connection, people sacrificed even more.

The spread of the deadly COVID-19 made national and international headlines. People got sick by the millions and thousands began dying. The way the virus spread (from person to person) seemed like a story straight out of Hollywood and movies like I am Legend or 27 Days . Countries closed borders, and citizens were being asked to “shelter in place”. In the United States, companies sent workers home to telecommute or furloughed others. Government leaders ordered non-essential businesses to close. Essential businesses asked employees to wear latex gloves and spray counters and wear facemasks. And then the strangest reaction of all—people panicked and started buying in bulk not nonperishable foo
