True Blood, Season 5 First Look Trailer! Yaye!

Ah, HBO is whetting our appetites for more True Blood , and yesterday they released a new trailer with ... egad the actors in it ( click here ). Yes, of course, I watched it. And I've read the books, too. So I could sort of tell between the spoilers and books what might be going on this fine season. If you hate spoilers, stop here. All right so we have some digging going on! Let's bet on one of two things. Tara is getting turned OR they are burying Debbie Pelt's body OR both. Remember in the books, they bury Debbie's body on Sookie's property. I would imagine we might have a little of that going on. I do thinking turning Tara is the most obvious choice, so I'm sure the writers are more imaginative than to take the most in-your-face road with that storyline ... or I could be wrong. Sometimes the obvious choice is great when you have plenty of exciting storyline to explore from it. Watching the ultra-angry Tara act on her "nature" might be extremely int...

Alexander's Dating Habits ... Um None of Your Business!

As many of you know, I track certain topics and people I am keeping an eye on their careers for a reason. Well, I set my Google Alerts to Alexander Skarsgard a long time ago. It serves two purposes: one, I by proximity get to see what else is going on with my favorite show True Blood and Season 5; and second, I can see his projects under way. Now a third outcome of tracking that provides nothing but idle hands and time is the gossip that swirls around our Swedish actor. So, I read some of it if I'm bored. He recently via a conversation (which is really funny in and of itself) got linked to the younger Olsen sister, Lizzie. Here is what didn't necessarily surprise me but kind of made me shake my head and laugh. I actually read the Celebrity Cafe, because I've been considering advertising California Girl Chronicles in it. I am not planning to advertise until we exhaust our public relations campaign. None the less, I know the Celebrity Cafe content well enough. So, I saw a ...

It's Official: Alan Ball Steps Down From True Blood After Season 5

I can hear some fans cry out in sorrow while I can hear the fans who hate the pairing of Sookie and Bill sigh a great relief under the belief that Alan Ball's influence over that couple will end. I frankly adore anything Alan Ball touches. I admired, loved and esteemed Six Feet Under as a seamless work of TV art, and I believe True Blood wouldn't have half its multiple and colorful layers if it weren't for Ball's savant storytelling genius. So with the announcement of his exit from the show, I hope he leaves behind a legacy of gifted storytellers who learned from the Yoda himself. I might not always like the direction of the show, especially in the last portion of Season 4, but I believe it was and will remain a high-quality show. I don't think the writers will want to try and put their own stamp on a tried-and-true show that is the second highest rated show in HBO history following only after the incomparable Sopranos . I am such a fan of Ball's impeccable w...
