My Open Letter of Gratitude for 2016

I wanted to take a moment to give thanks to you all for making 2016 the best year it could be despite how it started out. I’ve learned so much about my own limits, resilience, and ability to overcome and begin the process of rebuilding to make my life even better. This year started out with my discovery that the person who had become closest to me was deceiving me – not in a small way, but a really BIG way and over a protracted period of years. The personal and professional heartbreak at first numbed me out. I couldn’t believe what I found out was actually true. The enormity of the deceit floored me. It was a strange, surreal moment when the first big lie got revealed. I remember getting off the phone right after I discovered the truth and picking up a photo he had given me. I hurled it so hard against the wall it crashed through the plasterboard and left a hole. Mid-hurl I let out the most painful scream (which felt kind of good, BTW). How could anyone mani...

Work-Life Balance

You have to make a conscious decision to balance your life. For years, I have been working round the clock in sacrifice of my personal life. In the beginning launching my company 3L Publishing . Launching a new business can be time consuming. Now six years later, I am past the launch phase, but I still find my business consumes my personal time. But I'm ready to have a personal life again. So, you have to look at the whole picture. I have been seeking work-life balance for years. And with a new man in my life who I am serious about, I want to spend time with him. Yet the work still hangs in the balance, so it's up to me to make some changes to get the balance, well, balanced. Here are three things for all you workaholics out there who struggle with life balance, too. Institute some boundaries, meaning put in definite work hours . It's okay if here and there you have to work overtime; but make a real effort to make that the exception not the rule. If your plate is always...

Three Things I've Learned About Life

A little divine inspiration for you all this morning ... Control is an illusion . We don't have control over anyone or anything except our thoughts and actions. We can't control other people. We can't control outcomes. We can't control love. And we can't control situations. What we can do is have a positive attitude . A positive attitude is more likely to help your achieve the things you want in life. If you think positive and act positive you will attract what you want ... Law of Attraction. I like to say to others, do you think an Olympic athlete looks himself or herself in the mirror and says, "I'm going to lose today?" No, successful people think and act positive. Actions speak louder than words . A person's action tell you much more than their words. People can tell you one thing and quiet literally do another. So watch what the person does and not what he or she says -- that is his/her truth. What does it matter when it's over . I...

Temperance

The temperance of waiting The desire of light The road keeps on stretching The longing inside keeps on Every spirit of loving holds my hand and sings in my ear and I keep on listening but I still want you near I keep asking where is the devotion? Why not? And then the whispering angels say it again There is no not Time is an illusion in process and ethereal peace and there is no end even as we speak I feel peaceful abandon And then I feel it no more I feel loving connection And then I feel your fear And then the cloud drifts above me Fluffy and light in the shape of a heart I close my eyes I smile I know temperance is waiting and wanting some more yet you are not here and the angels sing quietly "Faith is believing something good will happen..." ~ Michelle Gamble-Risley

Sunday Morning Spirituality

Do you all know what is energy work? Now for spiritual purists who don't believe in that sort of thing ... well, move on LOL. We're going to discuss energy work on a Sunday morning. I went to bed early last night and now I'm up early getting caught up before I go out this afternoon. Yes, I actually do get out and have a life. I'm going to meet a friend, sit out overlooking the ocean, and talk about absolutely nothing important other than, "Look the sunset looks marvelous!" or "Cheers! Here's to a great day!" The only goal is to laugh. You should make life's goal about laughing. Laugh at the world; laugh at each other; and don't forget to laugh at yourself ... humanity is funny after all. We're all so wonderfully flawed in our individual richness. So energy work. I have a lot of energy work I'm doing. Something snapped in me yesterday big time. I immediately set to work on the energy work to make some energetic shifts. I began to...
