A : Hollywood billionaire movie producer Grayson O’Day has a plan to rid the world of poverty through the power of imagination.   He relocates his operation from Hollywood to The Hamptons, and spends a small fortune to build a prototype movie studio.   With construction complete, O’Day needs only one thing to fulfill his vision: a test subject.   The World Premiere of Me is the story of Duncan Ferris and his unlikely journey from classic underachiever to forerunner of the final age of man: The Age of Mind.   The broad theme of the story is: God has a plan to rid the world of poverty, and that plan travels through the imagination of man.   The story is told as an allegory, wherein all the main characters represent one aspect of the theme.   These include Grayson O’Day (God), protagonist Duncan Ferris (man), antagonist Fenton Hardaway (death), and Bud “The Co...

Anything is Possible

The New Year is upon us so I thought I would give my pep talk. I always like the phrase "the world is my oyster" -- and it is! Anything can happen ... if you let it. I don't know what is true, but I do know that it's possible to do whatever you set your mind to do. It might not like look like how you expected, but with persistence, determination and a lot of go-to spirit, you can achieve your dreams. The story of how 3L Publishing came to be is the best example of dreams coming true -- not just how I expected. After years of doing everything in the professional writing industry (magazine features, screenplays, custom publications ... you name it), I finally decided to write a book. The product of that decision was Second Bloom published in 2009. The self-help book about reinvention went on to win several awards. Authors suddenly took notice. I was asked to publish their books. Becoming a publisher was the easy part (actually), but the rest was a lot of hard work ...

The Five Second Blog

Business lesson numeral uno: Always focus on marketing and sales -- especially when sales go down. Take a lesson straight out of The Secret . If you're struggling for any reason in business, DO NOT FOCUS ON DEBT! Focus exclusively on HOW TO MAKE MONEY. If you focus on making money vs not making money, you will succeed!

Stay Positive for Success

I had such a busy day, I didn't get to blog. I want to talk about the importance of having a positive attitude to succeed. I had a really tough 2013 and my personal life eclipsed business. I fortunately have a terrific and supportive team I could lean on to get me through. I have been very blessed to have met my boyfriend Kirk Donnelly who is warm, supportive, gentle, kind and super positive. He constantly reminds me to stay positive and I will attract positive things. I knew the months of December and January would be tough sales months. Unlike in 2012 when I was prepared and had a financial buffer, this year and the fallout from my personal problems left me scurrying to stay afloat. But amidst my financial pressures to keep 3L Publishing alive and kicking, Kirk repeatedly reminded me to keep my nose toward the positive grindstone and not get caught up in the "fear factor". The book The Secret teaches us that when the bills pile, ignore them and keep your attention on m...

Positivity for the Payoff

My mantra: I make a lot of money easily and frequently I am grateful for everything I have. Today's blog is an exercise in the power of the mind to stay positive. 3L Publishing has gone through some transitions and changes. My move down south and personal challenges wrought havoc on the company. So now I am in rebuild mode. When faced with challenges, the best mindset is to know you can do it. Use what the time-tested book The Secret teaches. Focus on making money and not on the bills piling up. The more you focus on making money, the more money you will make -- and the reverse happens, too. What you think most about you attract, so pay attention to what you're thinking about. Are you thinking about the bills? Or are you thinking about opportunities and ways to make money? Also, a good friend of mine taught me this about money: Are your bills paid today? Then what are your worried about? Tomorrow hasn't come. Today is today. The bills are paid. It's all good. So kee...

The Importance of Gratitude

Gratitude is immensely important. The Universe or God (whatever your choice in a higher power) only wants love and abundance for us. So, today I am going to publicly express my gratitude ... I am grateful for ... My life in all its transformations My children that are lights of joy My friends who love me and I them My business flourishing and allowing me the freedoms to live my way My talents and gifts that bring me happiness and fuel my passion My clients who I enjoy My spiritual abilities that tell me the truth Everyone who has loved me on this journey With light, love and compassion, Michelle Gamble-Risley, CEO, 3L Publishing ( www.3LPublishing.com )

Increase Your Positivity and Increase Your Success

Did you know you are a reflection of the people you keep around you? The "inner circle" (the people you associate with regularly) should reflect back your positive energy. They should be movers and shakers and people who would take action and not play the role of the victim. If you want to be successful align yourself with successful people. If you want to stay positive and keep your energy flowing in the right direction align yourself with people who reflect that same attitude. If you have someone in your life who is critical, negative and full of insecurity and doubt and reflects that back to you then keep that relationship out of your inner circle. I had a good friend the other day tell me her family isn't supportive. Her brother questions and mocks her success. I told her you cannot talk to your brother about these things anymore. He is not your ally. He is a naysayer. You don't want naysayers as allies. Talk about the weather or the day's events but do not ta...

Why 3L Publishing Succeeds!

I launched my business in 2006, and along the way, I learned important, valuable lessons. You will be surprised that some of the most important things to do to be successful often have nothing to do with what you think they should. The most important outlook to whether you fail or succeed has to do with your attitude. Your outlook on your business and what you set out to accomplish will contribute to the net results. Many of you are probably thinking more along the lines of cash flow and dollars and shaking your head. I'm not suggesting cash flow and dollars don't count; however, not all success is defined by how many Franklins you have in your bank account. For the moment, this discussion defines success as your ability to get to your goal -- whatever that may be. So here are, in my mind, the two critical factors that affect the outcome; your ability to get to the goal. Persistence ! I know you've heard that one before. Persistence is your ability to stay in the game and...

You Are What You Eat ... or Think!

Spiritual lesson of the day straight from Be the Hammer Not the Nail : You are what you think the most about . The slow summer months have slowed our business growth. Today I got more news that ruffled my usually pristine feathers. I realized as my old business associate used to say, "They're dropping off like flies!" Well, in this case it has to do with contract shifts and completions. My panic button set off for about two minutes, and then I realized I needed to outwit and out-promote the entire situation. That line went through my mind, and I quickly decided to not go into panic mode, but go into positive-thinking and resourcefulness to get out ahead of the situation. I can't spend my day worrying about this. Instead I need to expend all of my energy thinking of ways to attract new business and growth. So, if I'm going to become what I think most about, it needs to about success! And if any of you out there are reading this and struggling in any way, shape or f...
