Alexander Skarsgard: Not a Flash in the Pan

So my favorite Swedish delight Alexander Skarsgard has repeatedly acknowledged that he could be unemployed as quickly as he has been employed (see Wet Paint article). He has said this in dozens of interviews in just different quotes and ways to acknowledge what happens in La La Land with the meteoric rise of stars and the often disappointing and unceremonious crash to "planet reality". Now here is what Skarsgard is doing right that will make it much less likely that he will find his career nothing but a crater pit. He has focused more on quality than quantity, having starred in some terrific indie flicks including Melancholia and the okay Straw Dogs .  Outside of the mega popcorn flick Battleship, he returns to smaller and more artistic fare with the release of What Maisie Knew , The East and Disconnect -- all of which sound immensely interesting. I even saw a picture where he padded up in an ugly "gut" suit for Disconnect , which demonstrates his complete lack ...

Jensen Ackles vs. Alexander Skarsgard ... Really?

Fan sites absolutely and without a doubt just give me nothing but utter smiles. Now we have a poll , yes another infamous poll, asking whether Jensen Ackles from Supernatural could beat Alexander Skarsgard from True Blood in a fight. Jensen is winning our vampire Viking by a serious margin. I have to tell you, I only find these little gems that make me laugh every time, because of my Google Alerts. I don't go out surfing to find them. I'm not amazed that someone made this up on a fan site. You see all sorts of different things on fan sites. Don't get me started on what people do on fan sites that would astound and boggle your mind. It's the rabid outcry and response in the comments by the other fans. Wow! And double wow! People take their characters soooooo seriously. Oh, the furious scorn and outrage if you even remotely say one, little unpopular comment. It's utterly crazy to me fans get this, well, "into" it. I even sat down the other day, and a girl...

Respect Your Fans

Here is what I've noticed -- and what moves me the most about this actor and probably one of the number one reasons I like him so much and have from the beginning (and why combined with his multi-facted acting skills I want him to get involved in my two script projects) is how he behaves in interviews and with fans. Alexander SkarsgÃ¥rd, as many of my readers know, is my favorite vampire on True Blood . Every time I turn around, I read something about how he behaves with fans that I'm so impressed with. I regularly see clips or comments where people say over and over again how nice he is. I read a quick clip yesterday where they cited True Blood season five began shooting and a fan caught him outside his trailer and got him to sign a poster of Straw Dogs . Again, I was impressed with how he went out of his way to sign the poster (in the middle of the night while shooting no less). When you're in a business that must win over the public to succeed treating your fans like pon...
