How to Submit Your Book Ideas and Manuscripts to 3L Publishing

It's Friday, and I'm already trying to think of something fun to entertain you with. Let's start with the wacky submissions I get to 3L Publishing that make me scratch my head. Every now and then I will have authors who just don't understand submission protocols. So, before I share the good, the bad and the atrocious, let me first share the right way to submit. If you have a manuscript, please send the following to info@3LPublishing.com: A sample chapter (preferably chapter 1) A 300 word synopsis that explains the summary of the story If it's a non-fiction book, your synopsis should explain what topic is going to discuss, how it will do it, and why it's unique If you've really gone deep enough on the business side, a marketing plan is welcome, too Here is what I don't want to see: A full manuscript with that 400 maybe 500 words long with the expectation from the author that essentially demands: please read my entire book and give me feedba...

Mass Transit

Is there a great movie on this yet ... terrible air-travel experiences? Oh yeah, Planes, Trains and Automobiles ... well after not just one but two plane trips shoved into coach like sardines wrenched into a very small tin can, I can safely say I need to get rich and fly only first class. Horror story #1--the orally fixated guy behind me . You know some people just HAVE to have something in their mouths 24 x 7. Oh yeah, I forgot my iPod so my entertainment on my non-stop trip to Fort Lauderdale was his cud-chewing acrobatics. About the time he's slurping and snorting, I felt an increasing urge to punch him on the arm. Oh but wait! He's orally fixated, right. So if he isn't chewing something that would jus...

My Favorite Fan Tumblr Blogs

I am learning so much about how to work with Tumblr and create a following for Brea's Blog . I am still learning, and I suspect I have a long way to go. In the meantime, I wanted to share a couple of tips and my favorite bloggers/blogs. 1. I noticed you need to find common ground and interests with your Tumblr "mates" . I am a huge True Blood fan. I love other shows too, but the show has so many compelling characters that I find interesting to discuss with others. It is also based on Charlaine Harris' book series, which gives it even more fodder to discuss as opposed to just the TV show. So I started following some of the Tumblr blogs that focus more generally on the books and show than just an obsession with a single character on the show. Believe me when I say there are some serious (and I mean serious ) fan sites on Tumblr. I want to comment on that for a moment. Wow! The amount of time some of these fan sites devote to their favorite actor just blows me away. I...
