Achieving the New American Dream of Happiness

New book Step Aside, Get Out of Your Own Way is written to help people find that elusive feeling – happiness.

SACRAMENTO, Calif.—It appears feeling happy in America has become as faded as overall optimism. In 2013, TIME magazine conducted a poll in which 59 percent of respondents admitted they were happy most of the time, and even fewer people considered themselves optimists (50 percent). So how do you achieve happiness during an ever-increasing stressful era of unrest and pervasive domestic and international problems that can plague your life?

Author Syndee Hendricks has the solution with the launch of her new book in which the title aptly states its goal for readers, Step Aside, Get Out of Your Own Way.

“If you are like many of us, you have that little voice inside your head relaying all kind of chatter and information – some of which I am certain you do now want to hear. Right?” said Hendricks in the book. “You think that little voice (LV or “Elvy” for short!) could be on someone else’s personal team from some of the comments made! And some of it can be so negative that it drives you to varying levels of emotional internal trauma. It’s that little voice that you just can’t seem to keep quiet that forces you to do things, to say things, and to make decisions that you would rather not make. Sometimes it gets in the way of nearly everything in your life.”

The same TIME poll continues to describe issues that hold Americans back (their problems and beliefs) from not only personal fulfillment and satisfaction, but also professional success. For example, many Americans believe their friends and followers on social media make themselves look happier and more successful than they really are.

“Whether you’re projecting your own feelings or not doesn’t matter, the real question is, ‘Are you in your own way of great health … happiness … and personal and professional success?’” Hendricks probes into those questions and more to provide a tool to help you remove or go around self-made barriers, which hold you back.

Step Aside, Get Out of Your Own Way shares techniques used by Hendricks in her Insightful Coaching business to help clients get over their “stuck-ness”. Throughout the various chapters, she shares her ideas, thoughts, techniques, and the tools that have helped so many clients do what the book’s title suggests: Step Aside, Get Out of Your Own Way.

The book is available for $14.95 on Amazon print, and $6.99 for Kindle, Nook and iBook. You can also get a copy of the book on the Insightful Coaching website at www.Insightful-Coaching.com.
